What It Is

Anger Isn't The Problem. It's What Happens When Other Problems Have No Voice.

Anger is a normal, healthy human emotion — a protective signal, like a fire alarm. The problem isn't the alarm itself. The problem is when the alarm is too sensitive, too loud, or when you start using the fire alarm to handle every little problem in the house. That's where things get broken — relationships, careers, self-esteem.

Our anger management program uses a hybrid of CBT cognitive restructuring, DBT emotion regulation, sensorimotor grounding, and the renowned to give you measurable, permanent change. Court and employer-referred clients welcome — we provide full progress letters and certificates.

“Anger isn’t bad. It’s a cry for help when we are feeling too much.”

— Nigel Edokpolo
The Anger Cycle

Every Outburst Follows A Predictable 4-Stage Pattern. We Teach You To Interrupt It At Any Step.

01
🧨

Trigger

The tiny event — a tone, a slow driver, a criticism. Unnoticed alone, fatal if piled up unprocessed.

02
💭

Thought Story

The story your brain instantly writes: "They don't respect me." "I'm always invisible." This is where anger actually begins.

03

Arousal Spike

Heart rate > 100 bpm, prefrontal cortex OFF, amygdala IN. You can't make good decisions in this state. Literally.

04
💥

Outburst / Withdraw

The explosion or silent treatment — followed 20 minutes later by guilt. "Why did I do that? I'm a monster."

Who It's For

You Don't Have To Be "An Angry Person" For This Work To Matter.

👊

External Anger (Exploders)

When anger comes out loud and leaves damage behind.

Yelling, swearing, name-calling
Slamming doors, throwing things
Road rage, online rants
Workplace conflict, HR issues
🧊

Internal Anger (Imploders)

When anger turns inward — a slow poison of resentment.

Silent treatment, cold shoulder
Passive-aggressive comments
Chronic resentment & bitterness
Self-harm thoughts or urges
📋

Mandated & Proactive

Whether you chose this or someone chose it for you.

Court-mandated anger programs
Employer EAP referrals
Partner ultimatum ("fix it or…")
Parental anger — "I don't want to yell at my kids"

Session Rhythm

Every 50-Minute Anger Session Follows This Structure.

01

Anger Log Review

One incident from the week — what happened, what story you told, how it ended.

02

Unpack The Pattern

Find your trigger thought. "When X happened, I told myself Y, and then I felt Z."

03

Skill Practice Live

One CBT + one DBT skill, practiced live in session so it's familiar when you need it.

04

Next Week's Challenge

One specific, measurable skill challenge. Log 3 instances. Bring it back.

Questions

Anger Management FAQ

Is this just "count to 10" stuff?

+

Absolutely not. Counting to 10 alone doesn't work because by the time you're angry enough to count, your prefrontal cortex is already offline — you literally can't access logic. We teach neurophysiological techniques: vagus nerve activation, temperature change, bilateral stimulation — things that physically turn off the anger response in 3 seconds or less. Then we work on the thought patterns underneath.

Do you provide court/employer documentation?

+

Anger management therapy is not a program, yet a structure that we teach skills similar to that of anger management programs. We provide intake assessment, notes, tools, and if required a letter can be written with progress at an extra fee.

How long until I actually see change?

+

Most clients report one "proud moment" in week 2 or 3 — a trigger that would normally have made them explode, and they caught it. By session 8, 85% of program participants show a clinically significant score reduction on the (20+ point drop) — and their partners confirm it independently.
