Family Therapy

They say the most important thing in life is family. At Christie Heart, we believe that as well, but more than just blood relatives. The people that make you special, important, wanted, happy and all of the above apply to family and that may be a long term friend.

Family issues are evitable, but just like issues within yourself or with a partner, they’re ways to improve whether you are seeking closeness, restoration, bonding, understanding to name a few. Family is different for everyone and due to that process, helping one another understand what “family” means to them is vital to moving forward with your loved one’s.

The difficulties of family stem from various concerns and at Christie Heart Psychotherapy what we look to improve on but is not limited to

  • Developing strong and respectable boundaries

  • Sibling Rivalry/Teamwork

  • Behavioural Concerns

  • Divorce and separation

  • Generational competency

  • Stepfamily integrating

  • Responsibilities

  • Child and Parent relations

  • Grief and Loss of loved ones

  • Improving family problem-solving abilities

  • Effective communication and Language

  • Support network and goals

Family at its core can be one of the most simplest aspects of your life yet at the same time it can be possibly the most challenging part.

The part of family therapy is not to show how hard you are working comparative to everyone but to show the need for help and the benefit the other members can provide in their own way. Family therapy has a vast amount of research and benefits from reputable sources as you may see below.
